11/22 | 7/1/03 1:50 PM | dandelion with shutter lockup

This is a better shot of a dandelion using the Sigma 180mm macro lens. This time I tried a new technique. I set the camera to "mirror lockup" which locks the mirror up when you first press the shutter button. Then the second press takes the shot and drops the mirror. This is supposed to eliminate shutter vibration in macro and low light shots which can cause blurring. This technique definitely solved the blurring problem, however, the previous dandelin shot has a very soothing look to it because of the soft blur. I guess it is just an artistic preference.
