Shot at the end of September, 2003. The Monarchs are about to return to the California Central Coast for the winter. I have noticed them getting bigger, and in November, they will reach a peak where thousands will cling to each other like Wisteria blossoms to keep warm. They eventually continue on their journey down to Mexico and then back up North to Canada. I just happened to catch this one as it was fluttering away from a flower.
